Today our bee man came to reverse the boxes on the hives, and check on the condition of the hives. He noticed lots of pollen going in, and thought the hives were in good condition. The boxes are reversed, as the bees tend to go up in the hive.
The smoker is used to quiet the guard bees.

After an exciting Easter Egg hunt the children and adults watched a zoo program with live animals. 
This dometic duck represented the avian world.
There was a table with a huge snakeskin, these duck feet, and other objects to touch and see.

The python won the snake staring contest, because he does not blink.
Both young and old appreciated the programs.
The two new beehives were brought to Foulkeways on the truck. They soon will be in the middle of our wildflower meadow.

While there are no flowers in the meadow now, there are maple trees blooming on the edge of the meadow, and that is where the bees will be heading in the morning.
Today there was a Foulkeways field trip to the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.
Photographs were permitted only in the permanent collection. There was a special photograhy exhibit, which I really enjoyed.
