Meadow on the first day of summer
Butterfly weed. We have had so much rain in June, that the black-eyed Susans are still mostly in bud, just waiting for the sun. The grass is soggy.
Cabbage white on heal-all - Because of all the rain and cool weather there are no butterflies to be seen. Are they waiting for the sun?

Common milkweed is coming into bloom, and the scent is lovely.
