
Here is one of those cicadas which are making all that "singing " that we hear on these warm days. Actually I don't know if it is a male, and they are the "singers".

Today I saw this bee tree on Perimeter Road. Is it possible that this is the hive from when our honey bees swarmed this spring?

Male Zabulon is very different from the female below.

Female Zabulon is usually darker than shown.

Unfortunately that is probably a yellow jacket nest in the base of the tree.
