This black swallowtail was not very eager to pose for a photo, so when it flew off I went dashing after it and to my surprise the next black butterfly I photographed was not the same one.
Spicebush swallowtail - I now have seen 22 species this month at Foulkeways.
I saw this great spreadwing damselfly eating breakfast in my garden.
And Monarchs by the bushelful!
