Autumn means it is time to feed the bees. Bees need capped honey to make it through the winter. If the trays are heavy with honey the bees are not fed at this time.
If the trays are light, we place a feeder in the hive and fill it with sugar water.

The float keeps the bees from drowning when they come to drink.
Only two hives needed feeding, maybe our Bidens patch has kept some well fed.
