The Bees are Here!

The two new beehives were brought to Foulkeways on the truck. They soon will be in the middle of our wildflower meadow.
The hives travel to the meadow in a wheelbarrow.

Hives in place, with a ground cloth and cement blocks under them.

Bees on top of the hive.

While there are no flowers in the meadow now, there are maple trees blooming on the edge of the meadow, and that is where the bees will be heading in the morning.

Sculpture Garden at Michener Musem

A serpentine rock bench for sitting.

Michener Museum

Today there was a Foulkeways field trip to the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.

Photographs were permitted only in the permanent collection. There was a special photograhy exhibit, which I really enjoyed.

Bench Survey

This rustic bench faces the "N" parking lot.

I was out today looking at at least 42 benches. But it was more fun to look at the crocus!

Mallards

With the temperature at 60, it was a day for a walk. I spotted this pair of mallards in the cattail pond. Wouldn't it be nice if they stayed and nested here at Foulkeways!

Screech-owl ?

Did I have a screech-owl hit my window overnight? I found this imprint on my patio door this morning. It is about 4-5 feet up.

It's Coming!

Spring is coming! Just look at these early Spring blooms poking up through the snow. Well, I must admit, though there is plenty of snow around, it was not around these aconites. I put it there for the photo. See below for how they really looked.

Doesn't it make you feel good just to see these lovely flowers!
