Out Today to See

The intersection of Perimeter Road and Meetinghouse Road will be widened beginning in a week. The intersection will be closed during the day. After the widening is complete, the road will be finished with a final paving.

Is this some new housing construction at Foulkeways? Who will be moving in here?

New memorial benches will replace benches such as this one on the Loop Trail, which offers a nice spot to rest and maybe get a peek at a deer, or listen to the birds singing.

Crocus in my garden, which were rescued before the moving of the Beaumont House. Some can still be found on the bank up there.

A Note: Those pesky Norway Maples that have been removed from the picnic area will be replaced with native trees!

Spring is Coming ? ! ?

Our beekeeper reports that all five hives are doing well, and some are starting to raise brood. This must mean there is something blooming out there for them to find nectar.

This witch hazel is blooming in the "V" section. Did the bees come all the way up here to find it?

The meadow is being mown, which is usually done in early March, but Spring is early this year, despite the cold wind of today.

The invasive Norway maples are being removed from the Picnic area and Japanese bridge garden.

The Norway maples have been marked with a red splotch.

This dandelion is a sure sign Spring is coming.

Postcards

If you see a photo on the blog that would make a postcard, let me know. I turn them into Foulkways postcards, which are for sale in the Gift Box.

Snow and Walk

As many of you know I am taking part in Penn's Way to Walk Study, and have to put in five miles a day. So this morning I was out there with my little pocket camera and took 68 photos. Here are a few of them.
