Wow I have been to this area and seen many birds, but never so still. The angles that you are taking are truly unique. What kind of camera are you using? Also, how long did you wait to see the birds?
The camera I used for these shots was my Nikon 300 with the 400 telephoto lens. I usually have the Cannon, which is lighter to carry. I stood in the sun for some time to get those photos, but it was worth it.
